I don't think so but that's just my opinion. He is only sad that he got caught. In the much earlier scenes he was smirking while his brother was trying to bully Tia. He is a coward though so maybe if he wasn't brothers with him, he may have turned out kinder. As someone who has been previously bullied, I believe bystanders are not kind just cowards (mainly because they don't want to be targeted). We will see though! Love this story!
