Tyrants tranquilizer

Granted, a lot of things can change in 14 years. Even if she was mute as a child, she could've recovered and maybe her family didn't want to pressure her into talking about it or anything (since it's usually such a delicate topic). I do get the feeling that they aren't her blood-related family though for some reason...

Being mute is different from being quiet, generally mute people have some sort of physical disorder which makes them incapable of speaking properly or at all. Such as deformed or damaged vocal chords, neurological problems; these disabilities don’t go away with age.

*in fact they are incurable. Correct me if I’m wrong, idk if you can get vocal transplants or smth but the closest I’ve seen to curing being mute is with a neuro transmitter or something that reads your throat muscles, and the system reads out what u want to say or something along those lines.

My friend was mute so I am VERY familiar with how it affects people. Everyone is different and assuming it wasn't due to a physical abnormality then it is definitely possible to recover.

Did your friend recover? Does that mean you know sign language because I think ppl who know sign are awesome. Sorry weird turn of tone there.
But looking at how it was portrayed in this instance, it doesn’t seem like it was just easy to get better. Maybe some sort of spell or something.

She did recover! It was caused by psychological trauma so with the right help and support system she was able to overcome it and slowly go back to her original self. Now she's one of the most talkative and outgoing people I know. Most people would never guess that she was ever mute because of how extroverted she is. I used to know sign language but it's one of those 'lose if you don't use' type things.
