In the grand scheme of things, no, labels aren't important and I agree with your comment. But for where we are in time right now, I think they are VERY important. Just having your label acknowledged means that a fundamental part of your identity is valid, even if it's not fully accepted by society yet. And knowing that many others share this same label makes you feel less alone.
sometimes i really wonder if it's important to put a label on people (like gay, bisexual, pansexual etc). love is love, isn't it? i mean, i don't have anything against people who identify themselves as such but i still wonder about this
