I don't know chinese but i'm seeing this a lot in manhuas so lemme ask, 'cause they seem to use a lot of sayings /idioms and i get confused.

The phrase "You call me Dad" or "I am your Dad" does it mean like "I am more superior than you"? / "I'm your boss" ?

Kind of,, it's like "i am older than you, you need to put respect on me" cause asian people put their parents / eldest first as someone that need to be respected

Omg thank you. I was just guessing shit the whole time i'm reading manhuas. So it's not some heirarchy thing then...hence Yang naming himself "Ur daddy Yang" is just him exerting his tiny bit of authority ?

Wait first of all english isn't my first language, so i am sorry if this still doesn't make sense. but they actually talk about this matter before. Xiao called Yang daddy cause Yang feels like he owe xiao for being his tutor. When xiao become his father then he doesn't need to felt that way cause in asian household parents has full responsibility to teach their son. Same idioms different meaning
