I would suggest it! The first volume is great. The second volume is also pretty good, but it definitely had the better ending! Lol If you can buy the official translation, I would recommend that too for the drawings!

Just as a disclaimer, while the reviews for the 2nd are mostly positive there are some who have issues with how one of the main external conflicts is resolved. I personally don't mind it since I thought it worked well in terms of their character developments
Hey, hey, hey. I said FINISH the novel, not start it. I'm currently at the slower-paced start of part two, so I'm just glad to hear there's something to look forward to other than diabetes from how sweet these two are. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

It actually has a happy ending. The king never had any intentions to pursue a romantic or physical relationship with the princess. She has a strong resemblance to his late wife, so he wanted to use the marriage as a way to legally leave an inheritance. The princess falls in love with how devoted he is.
The love potion is actually more of a really intense aphrodisiac than an actual love potion. The princess wanted to have a baby with the king, but the king is hesitant to touch her. She then decides to drink the potion, but the king misunderstands and thought she was trying to end her life. He's like "If she's so miserable in this marriage, then I should die instead (he already has a great successor in line)." He drinks it and the princess gets pregnant.
Side note: ML is flabbergasted when he hears the news. No one expected it to turn out this way. MC realizes that there might be a good market for this kind of potion, so decides to stock up on some more. Lol
