Don't you think riftan already knows about her father abusing her,
What if he's the knight who sneaked in to see her, and then decided to mary her?
Because it's weird how he likes her after all her father did to him, and even so he's not giving up on her.
He genuinely doesn't know about her abuse, and according to spoilers, he won't for a significant time. He also isn't that specific knight, I believe.
There's a relatively short story, side novel which is from Riftan's POV, specifically from their time as youth. This puts a lot into perspective regarding Riftan's feelings... especially towards the FL. The link to that short story should be lingering in the comment section.
I thought its because he defeated some dragon(?) and she was like a "prize" given by her father to riftan?? Did i remember it wrongly? ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
On the surface level, it does appear that way. To Maxi it is that way too, but the side novel (which I believe should be shown in the story soon) will/should add more depth to Riftan's willingness to the wedding agreement.
i hope the fl overcomes her insecurities and prove her worth in someway/lh
