It's because he doesn't trust or care about him to the point where you want to be honest and open with them about this. He said that to his face and accepted his gift lol. Sadly people are such assholes in real life too..
Yeah, smelling the perfume and buying it because it reminds you of your ex....bruh...but I kinda also get why he would like it. He shouldn't have bought it, or chosen something else after smelling it once and reminiscing...but when you miss someone that bad - you start seeing them in stranger's faces and smell their fragrance like this and kinda lose your mind, or if you hear their voice from afar.... it's so hard to get over people, but the seme shouldn't be in a relationship, if he's still so attached...or better still, tell your new partner about it honestly. It wouldn't be a pleasant conversation, but honesty about these things is ALWAYS the best option. It actually strengthens the bond since you trust them enough and their love for you enough that you could share this with them..and the other party should be understanding as well, or it would definitely go to shit.
