So after her and the emperor got married he essentially kinda kept her in the palace and never really let her leave at all. She wanted to go to her hometown because it’s where she felt free for the first time in her life which i think was when he “freed” her only to be put into a much bigger cage! I’m not sure why he wants to keep her in the palace so much probably cause he loves her so much and thinks if she stays nothing can hurt her? I hope this helps :D
