This is information I got from spoilers, but Ash is definitely the ML, since in the first life she already had feelings for him. When Enoch wrote the book, he changed some details like making Ash seem bad and making Elizabeth the prince’s fiancé/wife so that Elizabeth would feel influenced by the book and actually fall in love with him in the second timeline.
