Why does she call him 'hyung'/'daddy-hyung' and not oppa? Wait is Taeyang a boy? I don't think so. I'm so confused.

i think it’s like “daddy’s hyung” bc kang is older so he is jooheon’s hyung.
    i might be wrong tho

Correct! And also it was said previously that Kang agreed for her to call him that when Jooheon got after her. Translation was verified by a fluent speaker as well.

I thought that a woman could also call a men hyung. I mean ain't hyung/oppah/ahjussi all that used to described men and unnie/noona/ahjuma used to described woman? Just depending on the realantionship and age difference?

It’s just a formality. A sign or respect that’s why Jooheon wanted Taeyang to continue being formal as a sign of respect.

That I know. It's Just that the OP implied that only Men could call another Men Hyung, that why they where confused and I said that I think that woman can also do so. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

"Why (...) hyung' and not oppa? Wait is Taeyang a boy?"

Here, that part of the comment was the part I was replying to the OP and also, the part that makes clear the OP doubt about if a female can call a men Hyung.

I think you missunderstood my comment (●'◡'●)ノ

hi, actually women don’t usually call men hyung!
i take korean classes and these are ways to talk to your elders.
hyung is only M-M, noona is only M-F, oppa only F-M, eonnie only F-F.
ahjussi/ahjuma can be used by both because it’s like saying “sir/ma’am” and are usually used with way older people.
these can change under some circumstances like with ppl who identify as non binaries but as for koreans formalities, these are the standard rules.

    hope that made sense ( ̄∇ ̄")
