I think people calling Jiwon toxic really are forgetting what him and Suha went through and why he’s suddenly behaving like this. Jiwon was drugged and almost raped because of red head. Red head and grandma took everything from him including his academic and professional achievements. They both told Jiwon to live like a rat that didn’t exist and that he’s an embarrassment. In addition Jiwon was also abandoned by his parents because of grandma. He literally has no on except Suha. That very Suha was also almost raped by red head, was repeatedly raped and brainwashed by red head in the past. Also red head takes every opportunity he can to try to rape Suha and also physically abuses him when Suha goes against him. The frightening thing is that even after that incident red head is still searching for Suha to take his revenge against him and Jiwon. Tell me, when things are like this how won’t someone be on edge. More than being toxic Jiwon seems to be exhausted. He’s like a wounded wild animal backed into the corner who would go to any lengths to protect what he loves. I agree Jiwon’s approach towards Suha regarding this matter isn’t the best but you can understand why he thinks it is. If he told Suha everything Suha would insist on helping him like right now and could be putting himself in danger because of red head. Jiwon is stopping Suha from going out alone and meeting people because red head is still searching for Jiwon’s house because he knows Suha’s gonna be there. I agree there could be a much better approach than this regarding this matter and also that he should tell Suha everything honestly but still I understand why he’s doing what he’s doing and anyone else in his situation would probably be behaving the same way if not worse. Suha also understands Jiwon’s anxiety and his pain. He understands the burden Jiwon’s under and how exhausted he is at this point and that’s why he’s being quiet for the time being so Jiwon can trust him more. Suha’s not an idiot so he understands something is up and understands Jiwon’s not behaving like his old self. Suha’s also not the kind of person who’d sit back and let himself be imprisoned and secluded from everyone else because of his past experience with red head. Like I said the only reason he’s being quiet for the time being is because he does trust Jiwon. He knows what Jiwon is doing to protect him. He’s also knows if acts against Jiwon at this particular point it will only make Jiwon’s anxiety worse so Suha’s currently waiting. Jiwon’s past and circumstances do not excuse his behaviour but they sure do bring some light to the actual severity of the circumstances him and Suha have been put in. They make his actions understandable. Not everything is as simple as saying “it’s toxic”. There’s so much more complexity to certain situations and people that one can’t even begin to grasp.
