Haha! It gets VERY good as it continues on, but yes, I agree. The love rivals (besides Senpai) are in fact pretty damn judgmental. Weight is a big issue in Japan, considering the norm is typically the slim model type. But that doesn't give them the right to treat Serinuma as if she was just a balloon that needed to be deflated.
The reason I say it gets better is because the story seems to be entering Senpai's route, meaning Junko might not pick the shitty cliche male protagonist Igarashi. (Even the new character who appears in later chapters is better than shittyrashi).
Please do not give up on this manga! Although it has a rather annoying start, you'll slowly absorb the characters personalities and understand the story as it goes along. You'll be very happy when you've caught up. Or not..cause cliffhangers.
TL;DR Keep reading, it gets better, shittyrashi probably wont win, Senpai for best male 2016-17, cliffhanger galore.

I followed this manga during its first chapters but since the releases back then were taking too long (not that I'm complaining, I love ya translators), I kinda stopped reading it. I just kinda remembered it again when I heard that it already has an anime adaptation haha.
But I have to agree with you! I really hate the fact that most of them approached Serinuma when her appearance changed which is really dissapointing. Tbh, I didn't drop this manga back then since I can relate to the heroine very much and because I was rooting for Mutsumi-senpai (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I swear to god I'll friggin' flip if Serinuma will not end up with senpai!! I mean, no offense to the other peeps out there who ships her with the other guys but ya know, senpai didn't care about her appearance at all. He pretty much cared about how Serinuma is as a person so yeah, if Junko will just make Serinuma-chan and Senpai a couple, then that would be great

So I'm on chapter 10 and I'm wondering if the manga gets better. I remember reading this manga before and dropping it after chapter 2 because I couldn't stand the message. "If you're skinny, guys will like you."The girl was perfectly happy and fine when she was chubby. I get that the guys could start to develop actual feelings for the girl but that doesn't change the fact that they approached her because she was beautiful. The guys would never have even looked her way if she never became skinny and it bugs me so much. For course none of this applies to the sweet cinnamon roll Mutsumi-senpi. He's the only one who treated her the same before and after her transformation and that's the kind of support the girl need in her life. Okay now I'm done ranting but I please can anyone tell me if the manga is worth reading or I'll just drop it.
