I would like to point out that the person to first refuse to communicate is the doctor by withholding the information. Also, remember his insistence of “Let’s go inside and talk about it.” He is not in a position to request yet ANOTHER thing from Hyuk who is feeling wronged and taken advantage of. He should have just blurted the truth right then and there.
This doesn’t make the doctor a bad person, but you don’t need to be bad to do bad things. Yes he means well, but there is a difference in “meaning” well and DOING well. Hyuk needs the latter and can’t be faulted for that.
Yes but I can understand how it would be hard to tell him. He could have been waiting for the right time, or maybe too anxious to say because he loves him. I would not say that him withholding this info was necessarily manipulative in nature.
Also let's not forget that Hyuk ASSUMED the Dr was cheating when he wasn't. He assumed this from the gossip about his past. So that's why I'm saying its toxic that he didn't seem to have any desire to communicate.

OKAY I HATE TO BE THAT GUY BUT
Hyuk did the right thing. It’s not a matter of pride, but one of values. Sometimes you’re put in a spot where you have to choose between what you want and what you need. Between loving someone who didn’t treat you right or loving yourself. It’s not easy making the right choice, but given all that Hyuk currently knows, he made the right call. If he was my son, I’d be so proud. At the end of the day, sometimes… you have to choose you. Because the other person so clearly did not.
**note: I am not reading ahead so I don’t know what happens next. I’m just saying that Hyuk made the right call in this CURRENT scenario, given all that he knows.
