One thing to consider though, is that we were told that they go through this magical growth spurt that ages their physical bodies. It hasn't stated whether it also ages their mental and emotional states as well, effectively turning them into the age they appear after the transition.
If it does, then in this world, the second and third princes may no longer BE CONSIDERED as minors. Even though it only happens with the royal family. I am betting that is the case, as the second prince is highly mature. Most likely it was something that happened because the royal family needed to age up quickly to be able to take over the throne/protect the empire at any given time.
ahh, im not quite sure on how they treat the royal family in cases such as minors. But i’d assume they are regarded as underage? As in, collectively they are LEGALY underage, but it probably doesn’t affect their day-to-day life and they are likely treated as adults. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Add to that (and what I said above), the fact that even by our reality standards, they used to marry off royals as young as 13-14. So in this world, they may also have that same standard of young marriages. I mean, there is a prince already asking for Arien's hand in marriage (albeit for nefarious purposes, but still), and acting like it would be normal to get a yes and sweep her away almost immediately back to his place. The kid is (as far as anyone but her brother knows) only 5 years old for crying out loud.
