The manhwa didn't include many details about the characters according to the novel, probably because of the artist's poor health conditions. So I thought I should let you guys know.
About why Jeremy adores Roxie and his Mom:
Jeremy likes Roxie because she is the only person in Agriche who doesn't treat him like a monster. She treats him like a genuine family member, and it makes him happy because he always craved the love of his cowardly mother and indifferent father.
About his mom, she's dead. She committed suicide in the past by throwing herself off the balcony in front of Jeremy. Apparently, his mother was a very weak-hearted person and was forced into marriage with Lant Agriche. She was unable to cope with the terrible environment in Agriche, and had to see blood and murder all the time.
She saw Jeremy as a monster instead of treating her as her son, so she avoided Jeremy ever since he also started acting like an "Agriche" (which is acting crazy, cruel and possessing a lot of bloodthirst).
Jeremy always longed for his mother's affection, but decided to not approach her because he knows she's scared of him. But one day, Jeremy couldn't hold it any longer and decided to confront her. His mother got terrified when he started chasing after her, so she ran into her room and got cornered by him at the balcony. As Jeremy got closer, his mom slipped and fell off the balcony, but somehow managed to get hold of the railing. Jeremy hurried over to pull her back up, but the mom was unwilling to do so.
