A lot of the manhwas here does not have an official english translation. So that’s probably one reason, people are sharing and remodeling copyrighted material. Sometimes before the official english translation, which effects the authors. And let’s face it, how many million more people speak and read english? The english sites have thousands of readers everyday and the updates are just too fast. Is there a need for the chapters to be uploaded here at the exact time as on the official sites? And yes, I am also an illegal reader.

Wrong take. They deal with their korean site too but its their company and author associations who deals with korean illegal sites directly. Korean illegal sites are run by real thugs and associate with prostitution, drug rings and gambling so its obvious the author didnt call out to those site directly for safety reason. Also for korean law, that stuff was the responsibility of the publisher and author association. The korean publishers manage to take the korean illegal sites down but they keep popping up back with different domakn name. So the did fight with the korean site. The entire arguement saying they didnt fight with korean illegal sites were wrong. Also the origin of this discourse was rooted back to YD racist and xenophobic rants. So thats YD issues not the all korean authors are like that.

Authors don’t care if they are popular. They don’t care for it to get big if they’re not gonna pay for it. They’re not grateful because more than half of the ppl that read their works don’t pay them. And if they don’t, now what? How do you think the artists feel when they see that on legal sltes their work has like 10,000 views while on illegal sltes they have 1m and don’t get paid for it?
