By saying that they deserve each other you are inherently saying that lee nan deserves what he’s been going through because of his past actions. Lee nan isn’t a great friend, but he didn’t reciprocate and jae han didn’t respect that. Despite this Lee Nan forgave him and one of the only reasons he agreed to the “10 times” was to protect Jae from the wrath he’d be forced to endure due to his employer being the ML. You could argue that Lee Nan’s actions towards Jae are similar to the ML’s to him, but Lee Nan continued to do what he felt was best for his and Jae’s relationship despite their opposing desires while ML did the opposite and instead did what he wanted to get his way.
Plus using words like “if” and “but” nullifies apologies. It gives you the opportunity to exempt yourself from guilt by not taking accountability for your actions
