Yesss I was just thinking this!! Jihwan may not have the purest of intentions but the bar is on the ground. He genuinely seems to make Sooyoung feel safe and is therefore unironically my favorite toxic ML.

Exactly but lets be real, Gyujin raped Sooyoung orally in eralier chaps and ripped up his lip remember. Sooyoung was crying saying he didnt want to do it i felt so bad. This author rlly knows how to conveyemotions through art though, highkey love their work.
IKR?!?! I just love how the author/artist can convey the fear of sexual assault/rape and trauma so clearly in this story. It's actually taken more seriously and, as I said before, it isn't resolved through sex like most other stories. The readers can really feel Sooyoung's anxiety and fear of Gyujin.
Holy shit bro, I'm honestly so impressed with the depiction of sexual assault and trauma. In so many BL stories, when the uke has been sexually assaulted or even raped, the seme saves them and then has sex afterwards :/ The smut after a sexual assault/rape scene in a BL story completely kills the tension in the story imo
BUT in this story, when Sooyoung (MC) was sexually assaulted and almost raped, Jihwan (ML) does save him. HOWEVER, Jihwan doesn't help Sooyoung's situation by having sex with him or forcing himself on Sooyoung.
Jihwan lets Sooyoung stay at his house, protecting Sooyoung from that mother fucker Gyujin. Jihwan gives Sooyoung time/space to himself and Sooyoung is able to rely on Jihwan when he's panicking/mentally stressed. Sooyoung also shows fear and anxiety when he thinks of the attempted rape, which makes the tension stronger imo.
Jihwan is manipulative, clever, and also seems to be taking advantage of Sooyoung's situation to make Gyujin angrier/lose his composure and to make Sooyoung depend on him more. BUT AT FUCKING LEAST HE DOESN'T DIRECTLY HURT OR RAPE SOOYOUNG and is actually protecting him. Unlike so many other manipulative asshole semes in other stories.
As long as Jihwan doesn't hurt my baby Sooyoung and makes him happy, I won't imagine myself cutting of Jihwan's dick and I won't lower my rating on this story :3
