I feel like the story will end with Zigrien as the emperor. In fairness to the author like you said, she is spending a lot less time on the r@pe and more on the actual plot and politics which I am really into.

The author did say that they don’t like tamed tops. So the author is building up Zigrien’s character to be on par with the prince. Because so far the author likes more the chemistry and the prince as a top. But they said that Zigrien will become a more aggressive top. But by the looks of it, and how slow the story is going I would say that’s gonna take a whole lot more of chapters. Because you know Zigrien is not in a powerful position and he’s a bastard son. So we’re gonna have to keep seeing Idris get raped by the prince. One good thing I can say about all this, is that the explicit scenes with a lot of details between the prince and Idris are going down. In the beginning it was a lot of details of the two of them having sex. Now we know the prince keeps raping Idris but we don’t see the whole scenes anymore. And that’s probably a sign that the prince is losing “metaphorically speaking” (because we know he is currently “the top”) top privilege. I just want the prince to be gone.
