With regards to the mother which is a regressor

She was a bad person in the future, a bad mom and someone who never cared for Lilyca. She only realized what a villain she was when her daughter died and she regressed. It's not surprising she doesn't know how to be a good mom. We are seeing her from the perspective of Lilyca who absolutely adores her but nevertheless we know she was still lacking in many ways and is still neglectful. She comes every now and then, showers Lilyca with affectionate words and material possessions but it's not enough to consider that a good mother.

I've read ahead in the novel and fortunately, it does address this. It's a good thing we have this thing called character development lol cuz through that, we get a glimpse of the mother's thought process and realization that what she's doing was not enough or even right. Matter of fact it was wrong. And she's doing her best to remedy that, it's hard to break bad habits and beliefs tho so it's going slow. But it's a step in the right direction. She still needs to be not so busy tho but I'm glad she's starting to finally listen to Lilyca. As she should!
