Jay acts the way he does for solid reasons. Everyone around him is trying to use him, so he has to be on his toes and not let anyone get away with even making an attempt at it. As for the way he treats Yoohan, it’s smart approach toward someone who has been dead inside for 5 years and after getting revenge, believing he has no reasons to keep on living. Jay provokes him because it lit a fire in the almost-dead Yoohan and Jay keeps fanning it to get it to burn hotter, along with a desire to live.
As for the “belittling” of Yoohan’s lack of education, Jay does that to a lot of people. He’s getting Yoohan to use his brain, which most in the entertainment industry are too lazy to do. By giving Yoohan those little trivia quizzes, he is encouraging Yoohan to learn. He knows that Yoohan is very smart and has acknowledge it to him on several occasions.
Jay is very kind and generous to genuinely good people, like Mgr. Choi, Hansoo, the CEO of Dream, etc
kind and generous ?? have we read the same webtoon ? sure, i understand jay's trust issues, but NO, sexual harassment is NOT the answer for depression/lack of will to live. i'm not saying all he does is bad, but yoohan certainly deserves better.
i'm sure the author will find a way to redeem jay, but right now he's a creep that has a weird obsession with yoohan, and he only helps him out for his own interests.
It's a "seduction" fic and obviously not your cup of tea. Fair enough. Yoohan is trying to deny himself any kind of pleasure, including sex. He is overwhelmed when Jay comes on heavy toward him, but enjoys the pleasure that comes with it. This is harder to portray in the webtoon, but easier in the novel because he's narrating and we are in his head. Also the webtoon exaggerates what Jay does. In the novel, when Yoohan was sleeping in Jay's bed when he got the call to come immediately to the office (because of Myeongshin) that whole weird sex scene didn't happen.
okay, i guess things make more sense in the novel then. i don't know why they felt the need to make jay worse in the webtoon? and you're right, this kind of dynamic in couples is not my cup of tea... i hate that it's the norm in BL romances when it really shouldn't be
he's pushy, possessive, very self-centered, he abuses his power and constantly makes fun of yoohan's lack of education... guys he's litterally got all the red flags
unless i see him cry and beg for yoohan he does NOT deserve him!
