Why tho?

Imagine trying to coerce a man in love to take you as a “mistress” just because you like him? Like she could at least pretend to have some self respect, if she just left quietly she could have probably lived a life of luxury and after a while rumours would have died down, could have been blamed on stress due to sudden changes, but now her reputation will likely hit rock bottom and never recover. Why do that to yourself over a happily married man??? Some of these manwha villain women make no sense whatsoever.

I agreed with everything you said except that last line. Yeah some of the villainesses are really nuts & out there, but some of them seem to feel justified by their situations. Krista DEFINITELY overstepped the boundaries for both--her chances with Heinrey were 0 when she went through with her 1st marriage whether she wanted it or not--but whether she's just stupid or she has some ego-related issue with letting it the frick go, she really thinks she's the victim in all this.

I mean the way her maids turned on her in c143 after being all on her side & encouraging her was fucked up even if it was justifiable by Navier's perspective (I doubt she even mentioned any of the turn-her-maids-against-her plan to Heinrey. Poor dude didn't get a say in any of it & probably stressed about it by himself.) It would've been a LOT easier if Heinrey used his authority aS THE F***ING EMPEROR [really wanted to cuss him out on this] to forcibly relocate Krista or worst case scenario: use the threat of execution under something like "attempted treason" or some crap ヾ(☆▽☆)

He was being tied to the former King's 'will' which is really f*cked up and so frustrating, like I would go berserk and throw everyone to jail who try to disobey me but yeah the nobility/aristocrat are frustrating

I 100% agree that some of the villainess’s feel like they are justified in their actions and like they have no other choice, but I feel like in this instance in particular her actions felt very unnatural and forced on the authors part (in my opinion); when Navier first approached her with the intention of being friends she could have accepted but chose conflict in an attempt to keep some of her influence/ power even though it was basically gone the moment the emperor remarried.
I just feel like someone who held her position for at least a few years should have acted differently in this situation, because she could have kept some influence by being friends / an assistant to Navier if that makes sense. Just felt like the author wanted a downgrade to the 70 chapter conflict with Rashta (?), and I think Kristina could have been a better villainess if she chose to fight Navier just over the position / power rather than because she was in love with a married man (just like Rashta) Just in this case she was trying to coerce technically her stepson to take her in as a lover.
I dunno, I guess I’m just trying to say her actions made no sense to me ( ̄∇ ̄")

That makes sense on an author's level of plot explanations (the why's & how's in-depth details) but I feel like this is her first time using her power/influence & that's where all the forced/awkwardness comes from (at least how I saw it). it's also true that she's basically a Rashta2 for trying to screw up Navier's marriage. More than the quality of Villainess, I think the focus was more aimed at how Krista's character went from being passive in her own life to trying to force her way into a relationship with the man she's "loved" since before her own political marriage got arranged by her jerk-dad. It's not a great storyline, but there are absolutely trashy people who do that in real life too. I think it would be a lot more f-ed up if she accepted Navier's offer of peace or tried to work with her for the same reason: she's still got a crazy crush on the woman's husband!

Even if I can reason out the hypotheticals (for the most part) I still think the storyline took a pretty weird turn...kind of like there's a goal to sh*t on women by depicting them as love-crazy, power-hungry psychos? these kinds of clichés get really tiring really quickly

Seriously though, it ticked me off to see Heinrey sitting in his f***ing throne all confused & helpless like "I don't know what to do~ I'm only the Emperor~ ╥﹏╥ ". (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

The politicians were just dissecting the prior's will to their own advantage so even a stalemate could've been achieved (since he's apparently not* gonna just order her to leave the capital or forcefully have her removed from the palace) by doing the same & claiming it would be better to "take care / look after" the woman when she's no longer stirring up political bullcrap in noble society. she's still get her own mansion or private residence, a fleet of servants, & never be concerned about running out of funds (that Navier would probably happily manage & readily supply <--she's too good for these people) (● ̄(エ) ̄●)
