Historically speaking, Mitsuhide does betray Nobunaga. If he does betray Nobunaga because he got rejected, that would honestly be a cheap way to handle Mitsuhide's character.

i like hajime but i still don't really feel the chemistry with nobunaga, but we all know how the cliffhanger in ch14 will end, poor mitsuhide
