Because
1) That "father" sold him to the family/made home work for the family sense he was a child
2) Even though the father is shit mc still loves him
3) Mc has literally no money remember all of the money he gets goes straight back to the family
4) mc has nobody and nothing to go to so he has to pick between being homeless, starving and encounter evil people who would do 200x worse thing to him than the mls father or stay in a house getting 3 hot meals and be granted safety (I use safety lightly)
