As this is Japan, that is a lot more conservative, also not open about this topics and many times this topic is romanticize, the author made a very realistic take of how it is. Knowing and Understanding a lot of times is different. Also the phrases were to show how most of the times there is prejudice against the victim (even more in man) even when they like you and are close to you. 17 year old highschooler with access to Internet are all different, it clear the author wants to show that the only information she has is the basic one and that's really common in Japan, a lot of kids this age are not knowledgeable in such a heavy topic even with Internet. Is realistic but really hard reality
I can't even put it to words, I'm too pissed lmao. All I can say is 17 year old highschooler with access to internet should give her enough ground to cover what not to do around victims of rape.
