Im pretty sure the title was supposed to be a juxtaposition, the author mightve been going for the tsundere route instead of whatever she ended up with. i feel like we're giving the author too much credit here, i mean have you read IYHMS? The story was all over the place and basic human psychology wasng taken into account even though the tags were psychological. We have to realise that this story was probably just so poorly written that it feels almost poetic. Its literally so bad its good. Except from the side couples most of them were ok.
Their "love" is definetly an illusion to the readers though (a deceptive appearance or impression), i get what you mean. I just really dont have that amount of faith in the author. Im pretty sure that the author just hard a hard time tryinb to prove the title wrong and ended up creating this sort of guise of love by accodent. Its both insanely fascinating and stupidly accidental. I also think Dojin is extremely delusional as a person (a false belief or judgment about external reality, held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, occurring especially in mental conditions), he's somehow convinced himself that he and Hyesung are in this deeply romantic love story but if anything this just looks like two people with trauma bonds tied down by a kid (agreeing with you here). We wont ever really know the authors actual here though, these are primarily theories but whether this ass on purpose or not is something i still am not sure about.

I don’t get why people hate the main couple when the literal title of the webtoon explains their situation. Remember “Love is an illusion”! These two would never gotten together if not for the special circumstances. Although more or less both of them had character development and they do share love, the “Love” they share is due to their biological situation, not a “Love” that was developed naturally. They are literally forced to be with each other whether they like it or not. So at the end of the day their incompatibility comes from the fact that their love is indeed an illusion that is disguised under a forced partnership. Thank you for listening to my TEDtalk.
