Thats true, rather than the SA itself im personally more upset with the presentation of the victim. And the fact that this is a rape to love but thats aside the main point. Authors need to present victims of assault better instead of making it seem like their experiences were just somewhat embarrassing . This is FICTION which is why the presentation is especially important since basically everyone in the world consumes fictional media, 365 days is an example of a trashy representation of sexual asaault or Its Okay Not to Be Okay making sexual harrasment comical. Theres bad depictions all around us, authors need to present better because even people above the age of 18 can be vulnerable to this kind of content. Also because SA is EXTREMELYYY undereported in Korea, i cant imagine how hard it is for victims of same sex sexual crimes to report it. These kinds of things dont help, they just desensitise people to it and make them unknowingly minimise it. I.e. Increasing the stigma around speaking out. I dont think pointing out things nobody mentioned is wrong at all (you didnt say that i know), i do it because i know theres minors on this website and they need to know that that the actions taking place are always wrong. Im definetly not in the postion to help other victims considering im barely recovering from being a victim of sam sex molestation (occured when i was prepubescent). Thats probably why i get more upset at misrepresentation of rape with male victims. I can read it of course its not really a trigger or anything, its just disappointing since this work is so well done.
Im not against anybody consuming this kind of content, im more against the authors for presenting victims so horribly. If you're emotionally mature and mentally stable enough to be able to process this material while also knowing that the actions and reactions illustrated are misrepresented or wrongful acts in general than there should be no issue. Sadly, its less common than you'd think though. Even if you're here just to read people are always gonna have something to say, instead of complaining about it you should try to understand it, especially when it stems from actual problems caused by the material. I totally get what you mean here, this is just my perspective as someone whos been impacted by the results of this consistent notion that male victims of assault dont see it as assault or arent bothered by it.

Its factual that this kind of depiction of sexual assault contributes to rape culture, im holding the authors accountable for their actions. Rape culture is a societal thing not a personal thing, the perpetrators arent the only ones contributing to it. Its perpetuated through media primarily. Just because i am correcting you doesn't mean i am gaslighting you, what im talking about is something happening in real life. Its not a crime to be educated on this topic and while i know you didnt say that, to say im gaslighting you after i made valid points about an ongoing issue is not what gaslighting is. I also never stated that readers contribute to rape culture i said you defending this kind of representation contributes to rape culture, why? Because it perpetuates the idea that because this is fiction the presentation of sexual violence is unimportant DESPITE FICTION, being one of the biggest contributors to rape culture.

I never used the fact that i was molested as a way to give me the right to point out the wrongful actions of authors, i said that to explain that i was in no way able to help other real victims with their suffering (because you suggested i do). FYI im saying this because 'Im sorry that you had bad experiences but it doesnt give you the right' implies that i thought that being molested made me somehow just in talking about these things. Me being molested as a young boy isnt the reason i have a right to hold people accountable like this its because its the right thing to do since im knowledgeable about this topic and can identify the issues with this sort of material.

You're clearly ignorant about this topic, rape culture is both indirectly and directly harmful to victims and i can understand if you're confused about it.
