You also have to remember she was abused because of a stutter, she was hidden from the world and wasn’t allowed to like or dislike anything and was manipulated by her father. She was always put down for not being good enough in comparison to her sister. Of course it being her whole personality is much, but she was abused from the moment she was sent off to riftan. I know Someone dear to me who was mentally abused by her mother for all of her life, she’s constantly putting herself down because that’s what her mom would do any time she’d feel an ounce of confidence. It really depends on the person. Not everyone has the same experiences

Lol, none of this negates the fact that the author wrote a character with no personality as the fl. There's absolutely nothing to her aside from having been abused in the past and currently having a stutter. The author should have made her more than the nothing that she is. She has the personality of a blank, crumpled up sheet of paper. She's the same color as a sheet of paper too.

Exactly! Her not having a personality is not her fault cause she didn’t experience life as a normal child. She didn’t go out, was beaten for things that wasn’t bad or her fault, wasn’t introduced to anything new or exciting through out childhood. She basically didn’t live life at all and to have a personality you have to interact with people and learn things from the world
I was also abused by my dad but like the difference between us is that childhood trauma isn't my whole personality. I think the author tries to depict her trauma by making it the center of her universe. She has no likes, no dislikes, no hobbies, she doesn't get mad, cries easily, etc. I don't hate her, her trauma is very valid. But you can still make a traumatized character but also give her a personality.
