Hyesung's family didn't love him bor each other so i think it's realistic for him to not be able to show his love directly, since he never had an example of it growing up. However i do agree that there is a lot of codepence and hysegung kinda got dragged into this relationship without his initial wish at a very young age
No matter how much the author tries to romantizes their relationship, I can't get over the fact that it was so toxic. Even now when hyesung still acts like that towards Dojin. There was alot of codependence being bonded and all that. But Fargo really tried to make them grow into each other which kinda worked I guess.
