So I definitely agree with a lot of what you’re saying Yato found solace in her, but it was horrible that he stole her eyes and inflicted/projected his trauma onto her because he didn’t want to be seen and I don’t think he was protective yet because he doesn’t understand that he’s protecting her. I think he’s processing his emotions and anger is the quickest emotion to process so he’s feeling angry that these people hurt her and so he’s taking out his anger and that’s why we keep hearing him say I’m so angry. This will make me feel better. And he was searching for humanity in love and that’s why he said, and did all those things. It doesn’t excuse them, but he realizes right from wrong and that she had a sad life and he pitied her. She is a conduit/catalyst for his emotions and he’s become attached to her. And I do think Yato chose naivety is being taken advantage of by the other demons but he’s watched her in humans for a long time like I said, I think Yato is the lesser of two evils but I don’t think he’s a good man because he’s yet to become a man or understand what he’s done and what he’s caused her and I’m not on the general side at all. I agree with almost everything you’re saying I don’t know if it’s too hard to read because of the way I typed it, but the general is a child who came through a ego death and took it out on somebody who was less than him weaker than him, and who had been severely abused, and he took advantage of her. He was mad at the king, so he was mad at the princess, but not the one he fought the war for.

Hmm i don't think so actually. Yato didn't have a trauma he was just a demon trying to be powerful lol. That's why he stole her eyes but by doing so he saw what kind and fragile soul is Soru. In my opinion he did protect her when she was still young and his excuse was "yea, I'm sure it's because i wait for her to grow up, be more powerful and eat her". But in the meantime he got curious about humans and their feelings. And by killing humans and eating their soul he will become a human. He just kills the humans that were bad and disrespectful to Soru and is angry at the fact that Soru is still good to them and is smiling. And about the general... idk, I don't have an opinion anymore he doesn't deserve anything. I'm surprised how can a 2nd ML be so blindsided and aggressive. That's why even tho I'm a sucker for 2nd ml's, i don't like him because in general the 1st MLs act like that.

Yato does have trauma. It literally says he was born with an insatiable greed and hunger and then he saw humans and he was like why are they like me? Why am I like this? Why aren’t they eating each other and so he watched humans for a long time and then he wanted to be a human so he started taking peoples bodies and wearing them as ““ shells, and then that’s when he raised a little boy and he finally realize what I’m looking for that the humans all have is love and he’s like I want to soda boy to love me for who I am because he thinks he loves a little boy, but he doesn’t know so he goes and he gets the potion for the eyes and the little boy rejects him after scene and he kills a little boy and he’s seeking love because somebody who said they loved him didn’t uphold their word and so he took her eyes because he wants to be loved by her as well he only stole her eyes with you literally see him say don’t look at me please don’t look at me because he found solace and companionship with her so he didn’t want what happened to him and a child. He considered his son to happen again he pitied her, so she had a sad life, watched her. He relayed it to earn some aspect, because a little girl was just seeking love the same as he was and he didn’t want her to see what he truly was, and that’s why he didn’t eat her and he lied to himself saying oh I’ll eat her later or oh, I’m full because he wanted to be loved by her he didn’t wanna repeat the trauma of being rejected and admits in the previous chapter that he doesn’t know why he said that when he could’ve ate her already, he’s trying to lie to himself because he’s not understanding his emotions and he’s making excuses for these emotions and he killed those humans because they were bad to her. They were mean to her and like we said he understands anger and he was thinking she should be angry. I’m angry for her, so let me take out this anger he’s not angry at her at all he’s never been angry with her. He is perplexed by her, and he wants to be loved by her. He sees the little boy he fathered in her, and he sees access to his emotions through her. Yeah I’m seeing nobody FW with the general he’s just really immature, weak minded like we’re talking about Yato hurting innocent, but like truly also doesn’t understand innocence this man is a full grown human adult

Also honorable mention that the male leads are so much alike, but so different. but Yato thought he could watch humans, understand humans, protect and help them. He didn’t understand why they were afraid of him, and the general thought he had to live up to visit and protect his family house to be strong at the light and then he could take the spoils of war. One of them actually just turned out to be an asshole though.
Side note I also see why she named him. Yato it means many things, but mostly straight/arrow, and then fate as well as troublemaker/mischievous and is a god of deception and trickery and can almost literally translate into devious knight thief

I don't know i still don't see it the way you do. When you said that he was born with greed and hunger that doesn't stand for a trauma. That's a literal characteristic of being a demon. I forgot about Yato's origin a little bit because it was a while since i began reading this manhwa but i searched for information in the chapters. Since he could take human appearances and revealed the truth to someone ad saw that that person was terrified he knew that he was an ugly monster and was scared of becoming that exact thing to Soru because he was interested in the emotion love and was confused why people were bad towards a child when they should be loving them instead. In the chapters you can also see that he was questioning himself about why is it that he stays there and look after Soru and one day when the other monsters attacked he saved her and while Soru wishing for to be dead he took her eyes and was determined to eat her because in that way he would become human. Maybe there's a little bit of trauma but I wouldn't say that is the reason of his character. He's just a demon that doesn't understand feelings but wants to.

Girly pop you’re literally agreeing with me he was born with an insatiable hunger and didn’t want to be that way. He didn’t want to be greedy. He didn’t know why so he was suffering for the way he was born and then he saw the humans, but he wanted to be like them he said, why am I not like them and so he was suffering for the way he was born and why he was different from the humans and he wants to be human because he watch the humans he tried to help them and they were scared of him so he desired to be human and that’s when he start taking on shells and so he would become these human shells so he could be more human and he took the life of the monk because the monk said he would never be able to love as long as he indiscriminately was killing to be loved and when he became of the monk is when the compassion for a starving child came to him, and he raise this child and became a father figure to this child, and the child loved him so much that he wanted to see his face and he starts to feel compassion towards a child, so he sought out the other demon or God, for the elixir to cure a blindness, and when the child finally saw him, the child freaked out and called him a monster, and he felt rejected and he killed the child. He said he didn’t want to, but he was angry, and didn’t understand why he couldn’t be accepted he began to seek out love and humanity, and that’s when he heard other demons in ghost talking about soru and he began to watch her, and he couldn’t understand why he was having these feelings that he couldn’t kill her and that he was watching her. He didn’t understand that he was petting her, and that her life was so sad that he found solace and companionship in her that they talked, and she saw his hand and didn’t judge him he fought the other demons because he felt obligation over this companion who inside of these feelings, and when he became overwhelmed with the feelings and she recognized his energy, he didn’t want her to see him so he took away her site, so it wouldn’t end up like the child. He raised and resent him for his appearance and the only reason he thought those demons was because this child finally felt in overwhelming amount of a motion because the only person who offered her true kindness died, and so she gave herself a feeling that she died with her friend, he was so fascinated by Soru because she brought out these emotions in him, and she didn’t feel the anger he felt for her. She still had this compassion and humanity, even though she was treated less than human you could see in the last three chapters he starts talking about. I don’t know why I kept putting off, saying I was gonna eat her in multiple chapters back. He says the same thing when he sees her crying because he’s like if she was gonna be this sad why didn’t I eat her then I should just end this now and he keeps lying to himself saying that he’s going to eat her, but he did it. He took away her eyes, because he lied to himself saying oh, I don’t wanna be seen, not that he was saving her from all the demons and all the sorrows and sadness that she was seen through her eyes he kept lying to himself. He lied to himself that he’s going to eat her that he want to harm her, but every time he comes, he would only touch her hair. He would talk to her he would get mad for her. Hurt for her so he hurt others his whole trauma scape is why he want it to become human him being rejected no matter what he tried by humans him becoming a father, and then being rejected by somebody who wanted to love and see him and then him seeing that child in her and being scared of rejection is what shapes his need for humanity

Mm yea i can see your point of view but I don't think that he became the way he is because of the only one bad thing that happened to him. Idk if you can understand me. I think he was just born that way with a lot of questions about himself as a plus. As i said being greedy and hungry is not from the trauma. He was just born that way, taking in note that he's a demon. So that's okay on my side. The probability of a trauma is maybe the fact of you saying that he was rejected but i don't see that as a trauma. I see it as a painful feeling and sadness, i wouldn't call it a trauma because trauma for me is something extreme like maybe cutting and abusing Soru. So i don't know if we can see eye to eye on this part.
Which eye sees that trash as handsome? He's literally so trash even the author abandons him. An actual demon is a better choice. Ladies, raise your standard pls. Can a man really "love" you while using and neglecting you despite having the power and means not to? The answer is no! No amount of looks can compensate for that pls ╥﹏╥ not only is he constantly scowling and ugly, his heart and mind is a toxic, dirty swamp also.
