I read the novel and Ash is just is this way, he doesn’t really change. He’s not bad by any means but Lyle is so pure and good that when you compare the two the flaws of Ash really stand out. They both have issues with communicating

His horrible communication skills. He also easily hurts Lyle. He really struggles with being honest and open. For example in the recent chapters he doesn’t let Lyle touch him and instead of providing a reason he sweet talks him. He even noticed that Lyle is visibly upset but can’t come to the conclusion that his rejection is what’s causing it. While Lyle is too insecure to bring any issues up Ash doesn’t communicate about what is important at all and instead buries everything with his flirting
i see your pov but i feel like hes communicating more verbally after the Hazel incident. then again to each their own. But yeah i do feel like their communication was on top towards the end of the novel. Especially in the pregnancy and how he calmed Lyle.
Now that you mention it, theres also how Ash flirts his way when he knows theres a problem bc hes too cautious to hurt Lyle until it becomes this big problem then they communicate clearly, like the Hazel and Richard incident. But thankfully it doesn’t seems this way towards the end of the novel. so yes there does seem to be development in Ash’s side.

Is it just me, I think Ash needs more development when it comes to expressing his love to Lyle. I can really feel the emotions flowing out of how Lyle is in love with Ash, but the character of Ash just seems so bland. The creator really needs to redeem Ash's character in these remaining chapters. Istg. All in all, their story is just really cute, and green. The creator just needs to put some development when it comes to Ash.
