If you're ok with a light novel(it's a CN novel). I can recommend it to you. The translation is already completed and it's like, one of the best MMORPG based BL out there. It just sucks it doesn't have a manhua yet.
Premise is MC's female cousin got harassed and bullied off a game to the point she moved countries to get away from the stress. The reason why she got bullied is apparently, she was flirted by the top gamer in the game and they dated not knowing the guy has a GF. That GF is a known streamer and blasts the girl online and ingame, sending armies of simps and guild members to harass her till she quit. The top gamer who started all these did jack shit.
MC got super pissed cus he loves his cousin and is super attatched to her. So he(someone who was an expert but quit the game a long time ago) bought a female account in the game and bought a voicechanger to catfish the top gamer to get revenge and to also get back at the GF for bullying his cousin.
WELL, WHAT HE DOESN'T KNOW is that the top gamer, during the whole girl friend drama wasn't the one who was behind it. Apparently, stuff happened irl and he had to hire someone from the internet to keep playong his account to do the dailies(can't remember if there was a penalty for missing dailies) and the guy he hired got all the power in his head and went around messing with girls without the top gamer knowing.
MC also got scammed into buying an account that has bad history and that pretty much kept bringing trouble his way while he tried to woo the Top Gamer(who i should probably mention is the ML). The bad reputation basically was that the owner of the account was a female scammer who dated this guild leader of a large guild and had him buy super expensive stuff for her then i think she also took guild money and ditched.
Anyways, the game setting and uni life is is so fucking well done. I've read it multiple times
Oh yeah, during the whole time he spent trying to woo the ML and causing chaos in game, he didn't know ML went to the same uni as him and they've already interacted several times.
They were pretty close and ML made a connection that MC was the girl trying to woo him in game cus MC fibbed and unknowingly dropped hints that connected him to her. Thought the MC was gay and really liked him both ingame and irl but played as a girl cus he wouldn't have a chance as a guy to woo him in game and irl.
Also MC found out that guy he met in uni and in game was the same so he accidentally called ML gege(which how he calls him in game) it stuck and ML never corrected him so he kept calling him gege.
