I love this! Also love how every child was given more focus and their upbringing and point of views in their life and their experiences with adults. Like the atil's anger and fear to every adult after the death of his parents, lily apprehension to any adult, and fyord's abuse inflicted by her mother. Also love how atil and lily were given chance to change thier past trauma with them. Lile atil opening up to the emperor and queen. Lily's interactions with the adults around her and her mom. I hope someday fyord would also have this chance.

Anyways, Lylica my dear, I'm so so glad you know you have power and responsibilities now. She's not the same person anymore, what a delicious character development! I also really love how she's still recovering from her experiences from the past. She got scared that Atil got violent but her development allowed her to put a stop to it unlike before where she could only cower and pray. It's a delight watching her grow and get the childhood she deserves. Playing with "magic", eating sweets and having a loving family. She finally gets to be just a child!
I guess this could be a reason why there's a focus on Fford (aside from being the ml I guess) cuz so far I'm not really sensing any romantic connotations on their interactions. She finds him beautiful second only to her mother and there might be a crush? But, I think he's really here to serve as a juxtaposition to Lily's situation. They grew up differently but there's also so much similarities too. Case in point, their mothers. SPOILERS they're both abusive but Lily's regressed and is trying to change however Fford's is still abusive and is getting worse. Jfc I just got back from reading the latest novel chapter I could find and my god, she's a fcking monster. It's honestly commendable how he didn't break yet (which is actually fcking soon according to Lydia wtf) the only oasis he has right now is Lilyca and I'm so so so glad they're friends. She's his last thread to this world, I'm really hoping he could find more reasons to stay alive. Ugh I'm still emotional from that chapter. He's the precious masterpiece of the Barat, their jewel, but they're treating him as if he could never break. Hang in there baby! Surely, (I'm hoping)you'll be able to live a happy life too away from your awful mother, a second chance at life like what Lily got (ugh please ╥_╥).
