I was confused on that too, but I think he meant like "why is he collecting them in that specific bowl like its a hobby instead of selling them" coz right before that he said "he knows diff things about me" or something like that so I'm assuming he's like "he knows I make pearls"

Why is everyone talking about the MCs dying? Like I'm assuming they're gonna survive the river (in comparison it isn't even that dangerous given the other life threatening things), if anything it'll bring back the dudes memories [like the comment said below]
