I get the whole part about when her powers goes away, but it all sounds fishy you know. but any story where someone happens to loose their powers just as someone else is gaining them, just smells really fishy.
plus if there was not supposd to be two, maybe someone, looking at their god, should not have given two people powers and instead guided the first one. anyway.

without risking spoiling the entire plot, I'll give a rough outline of how it happens: the main antagonist of this story intends to hold power for the holy temple and control the empire by proxy. to do this, they must remove all power from the saintess without having to gain it themselves, unintentionally transferring said power to another bystander.

The priest who r*ped her is the main villain and og owner of the body was traumatized. the priest cursed her so her holy power is depleted unless she has s*x.
It becomes some sort of drug and the consequences are dire, she becomes paranoid and desperate. her holy power completely disappears and is transferred to the next 'favored' soul by blood relation.
yes, the ogFL is the saint's sister. they were separated when the priest plucked the saint from her family and brainwashed her into thinking he was the only person she could rely on, hence grooming her. he is a creep and a narc to boot.
the saintess freaked out because if her sister becomes the saint, not only will she be subjected to the same abuse, she will also be easily manipulated due to her pure and kind nature. ogFL is too nice.
so she does everything in her power to avoid that situation, and binds a contract with a monster mage to remove the curse in exchange for having their child. the next condition is that the mage is to destroy ALL of the holy temples, since it is the institution that enabled her abuse and she aims to end the cycle.
in the original timeline, her intentions are misunderstood and she dies, but she chooses another battered soul to do the work for her. and the timeline is fixed. the priest is punished, and most holy temples are destroyed.
For me what I can't understand is how she just said she doesn't know how to use divine power yet she knows how to bless people?? How??
u know what I don't get. she has divine powers, she is clearly able to hold the post as saint, what about it makes it fake? because the og soul was not an angel? if she was not worthy of having divine powers, why did she have them? in a world where god is real, then how can someone who has the powers of a saint be a fake saint?
