People kept saying he needed karma so I think the author felt she needed to punish him before moving on with the story. I totally agree he didn't deserve what happened
I get that he needed to be punished for what he had done, but taking it that far was just wrong. I now feel bad for the guy instead of being happy that he got punished and I don't think that's what the author was going for （￣へ￣）
