I totally agree with you! I was left wondering the same thing as to why they both thought their relationship had to end when Gene went to Canada. There really was no reason for them not to keep in touch and it's even mentioned in the extra chapter.

A beautiful manga with a kind of cold conclusion?! I mean both the story and the art style were marvelous and I was enjoying until the point when the MCs got separated without keeping in touch. I don't get it honestly. It wasn't like they ended things cus they felt fed up with each other. They were in love. The least both could do was keep in touch by letters or postcards atleast. And the end? They couldn't define what they were to one another. I would have enjoyed it more if I found their total separation reasonable.
