Basically the bottom has amnesia. Doesnt know who dooshik is, his memories are capped at like when he was with his mum, AND HE THINKS DOOSHIK IS PILWON and yh this is 3 months before they fell in an icey pond which killed them off
So essentially jooha lost his memory after falling from the balcony and the last thing he remembers is when he was in high school, even before meeting pilwon, so dooshik took care of him like its they're first time meeting without forcing him to remember the past so jooha can be happy. Then when jooha falls into the lake he regain his memory that's why he says "good to see you again"

The author just showed jooha regaining his memories and ended there, she never implied that they were dead.

Now that Jooha doesn’t remember anything from their past , Dooshik sees this as a blessing and decides to write a new story with Jooha that is filled with happy memories! So no they’re not dead!
don’t quote me on this idk if they’re lying or if it’s a misunderstanding but i saw someone on twitter mention a chapter 93.5? they didn’t talk about what was in the chapter so idk if it’s side stories or what. and i’m assuming that’s on the korean ver as we’re caught up with the eng ver on mangago. i’m not completely sure tho, don’t fully trust me lol
