Tbf adult Potato is exhibiting the same behaviour as an only child raised by a single helicopter parent. He thinks he is the only man/person in his parent's life and gets jealous/clingy/possessive about him.
Even as a kid, Potato was the same, but when you add in the puberty and hormones, it's hard to not be affected (at least emotionally). Potato might have a crush on his dad sincw they are always together, but he will outgrow it as meets other people.
To tell you the truth, nothing is more than hard when it comes to stopping not to ship potato to daddy wolf when they are in their adult form. Author is making it hard. But when potato is a baby, it's just too father and son wholesomeness and my heart is being field with too much love . At this point, I'm a pro at stopping myself from shipping the adult form and I'm just pouring it to Blue and yellow HAHAHA
