Ah, I got the impression the young cop was just another Sudoh or Kuroda and has a crush on Asami but it's not reciprocated, and with Feilong Asami just took pity on him, had hopes for him as a fellow crime boss rather than find him attractive as a lover.
I just wonder if Asami has ever really cared about someone before and *wanted* to be with them, (for example - he misses Akihito when he's not there.)

Hello J pat's on back. welcome back.Posted this but did not get tru. I always headcanoned the cop as a one night stand. Mr" leathers" was some one he met as a young man. I see him as Aoe Renji's father from Love mode(.totally made up) The father was a SOB but would have made a great seme for a 21 year old Asami. I could see him teaching him, cough the ropes.
That's the beauty of keeping Asami's past a mystery-- we are free to fill in the blanks as we like.
The situation with the Hong Kong cop is obviously a strategic move on Asami's part. It's likely the cop is also aware of that and is fine with it.

Y'know, Asami is one lucky bastard - the thought just came to me while I was reading the extended (sex) scene just now. He's smitten with Akihito, it's obvious! And Akihito being with him is something that (should be) impossible given how they started but hey, they are that into each other.
Here's where it got unnecessarily complicated - Although most of the world (fictional or otherwise) wants to jump Asami's Salami, don't you find it crazy that he is someone so clearly stuck on Akihito, so dismissive of other hot-as-shit Uke's and he is so seemingly discerning in his tastes? Who and what do you think he'd be doing if Akihito never came into his life? And who or what kind of people was he boning before Akihito?
(Although I found this cliché irritating in some manga, I wouldn't mind one of Asami's past conquests making an appearance, just so we can get a gauge of what weight Asami really does place on what where lovers are concerned. E.g. Looks, connections, usefulness, spunk. Had he ever been in love?)
