Eh, at least Kaoru understood Manabu's pain and where he was coming from. I think Ian is meaner for hurting Manabu without even intending to or realizing it. I really think people like that are scarier 'cause they make it harder for others to judge them and there's a greater chance they'd be forgiven even if they've dealt a lot of damage. People like Kaoru, when they become mean on purpose, you could hate them. People like Ian, when they are mean without trying to be, you feel guilty for holding them responsible for it. Though, that doesn't work on me and I still think Ian and his insensitiveness is hateful along with Manabu and his masochistic streak.
I think it was Kaoru. He was always picking on Manabu and stabbing him where he hurt most of all. If I didn't know what Kaoru had been through I was seriously hate him right now.
