From what I remember the Mushroom who have Anze's DNA died at the end only leaving his sprout( the sprout he is trying to take on the early chap)
It can still go back to life I'm not sure though coz it was open ending,
And I'm also not sure if there was a side story or not. Again I never read the ending again.
Whaaaa the open ending is giving orv flashbacks

I cried and wrote a 3 paragraph complain about the ending same with ORV, can never read the ending but it's still one the best novels to recommend

(SPOILERS) it wasn't an open ending! there was a long epilogue, anzhe regenerated(?) after a few years and we got to see him and lu feng together
the epilogue also explains what happened to a few more characters
FR? no lies? Coz I've read this a long time ago (rainbow turtle translation) and the ending was just like what I said previously if they added some chap then I'// try to reread it again..
if the officially translated novel isn't available where u are, u can find it free online! it sounds like ur translation didn't include the epilogue ^^
I love the novel sadly i did not like how it ends everytime i reread it i do not finished up to the last chap.
One of the best at story I'ver ever read.
