Well they aren't really. First bc they aren't related by blood in anyway. Second Rubi has aleays seen him as her abuser and he has always seen Rubi as his property that he can do anything with. People like her brother are absolutely batshit crazy. Lets just be happy that the reason author gives for her brother not wanting her and her husband to do the deed is bc her family won't be able to get them divorced for petty reasons and bring her back home to marry someone else. He hasn't sexually touched her is the only reason I'm willing to read this story.

Yeah, I read that too. But I really don't think it was meant for his sexual fulfilment and more bc he wanted to creat troubles for her so she can't fit in her new family and goes back to the old one. We know how everyone suspected Rubi directly w/o any proof when that B Freya was poisoned which is most likely her own doing. The people of the new kingdom itself aren't looking on her too kindly or giving her a benefit of doubt. They also fuel the gossip of her having a wierd relationship with her brother. Tge gossip of them seen kissing will make it hell for her.
