
Yeah, I don’t think B-class guide was impactful at all but it was very fun. Based on what people are saying it sounds like the Profundis novel is better/more interesting than the webtoon. I don’t think it’s meant to be a true romance in the first place if I’m not mistaken, so maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe I’ll check out the novel sometime.

I highly recommend the novel, if only for the writing. It definitely inspired me in my own writing. Just turn your brain off when you get to the “romance.” Though even the romance grew on me because you get to read from Shinje’s perspective, really get inside his head, and you just kind of realize he’s totally insane and full of hate. And so at that point you’re more fascinated by his twisted mind then being horrified by the romance.
Everything about the fucking webtoon is mid. Mid as hell. Mid story, mid characters, mid art. It’s not even “psychological” or “deep”—just fucking stupid. A lot seems to happen simply for shock value. There are better guideverse and better dark stories out there.
