Ehh..

Look this is hot, sure I'll admit that.
But really everything else is just wrong on so many levels. Mind you this is for like every K-sensei out there at all.
Our seme has a god awful personality, but because of his amazing looks and bad ass appearance we fall for him.
Our uke... I'm ashamed of him. I'm ashamed at the fact he never fought back, that he never removed himself from the sensei. Really I'd just tell my creep of a bosses wife what her husband is forcing me to put up with so I'm left the hell alone.
If I was in the ukes place there is no way I'd let the seme do something like that to me or want anything to do with him.
But no the piece of shit is like this for some cliche unknown reason, and were suppose to feel bad for him because he's hot and everyone loves him for it and he wants someone to love him for him. Boo-hoo.
How about work with not being a molester and rapist first!

I agree. I'm even annoyed with how nonchalant he was about kissing someone he slept with. Sure, he's free to do whatever he wanted with anyone since they're not yet in a relationship, but didn't he want Koba to accept him wholeheartedly? I just find it insincere because it made me feel like if Koba wouldn't give him what he wants even when they're in a relationship, it'd be easy for Kaji sensei to find someone else to relieve his sexual desires. It's good that it worked out somehow, I just didn't have much doki doki feel because it feels a bit forced...

(I bet if it were a love triangle and Kaji's the second lead, he'd be hated for his actions so much more. His actions were somehow justified and romanticized because he's the main love interest...)

When it's this kind of manga, if that happens it's so cliche it's boring. But at the same time I'd love for just something that brings out actual real feeling. All I'm getting is sex, that's nothing.

I've tried reading this series multiple times trying to find what all the hype is about and all I can think of is that this series is only popular due to the sexy scenes. Nothing particularly wrong with that, I just need MORE. More feelings and more plot. There are loads of manga out there with great plots, great characters, real genuine emotions, and sexy scenes. If those manga can have all that, what's stopping this manga from having even an ounce of feelings? I just really can't connect with the story at all....

It's all about culture. For some reason this stuff is actually enjoined in Japan. Though at the same time I'm sure even that many Japanese that read manga aren't happy with it.

For this type of manga it doesn't focus on romance but more like fan service and the sexual aspect of the story, if it helps just consider this as another porno graphic novel instead of a BL that focuses on the romance part of the story that way you don't expect too much and be disappointed while reading this type of BL.

It's interesting that you noted in one instance that you thought it was the culture of Japan that called for more sex, less feelings in yaoi manga but then failed to note it as a very REAL fact in the way Japanese employees are more likely to approach their jobs as a personal and status symbol and shy away from making waves or arguing with a customer or client than their Western counterparts are. I mean you didn't even notice it in the manga, itself? Kobayakawa is constantly given extra work and even his boss is apparently aware of the things that Kaji does to the poor uke and still coerces him into working with the seme, after all. Ya think that the reason Kobayakawa might still work with Kaji is because the workplace culture in Japan MIGHT, just might, make it impossible for him to say anything back and even if he did have it dismissed as inconsequential? So, no, the only thing I think I would be ashamed of is saying I was ashamed of the uke because I might do something differently under different circumstances. Thanks. But no thanks.
