there are quite a few stories where the mc keeps black hair and eyes. i am more annoyed by the stories where thay change the mc's skin color or general 'prettyness'. I do wish she could have fought back against the prejudice though :/ dosn't seem like many authors go for that route.
Also man they really love to change their black hair and eye colour huh? Like why not show them that shit like hair or eye colour doesn't matter?? Oh maybe that's because that would take too much of fine writing that most authors seem to lack......
