couldn’t agree more!! the father played a huge part in letting the abuse continue and his lack of care/empathy for his son, as a person, caused so much insecurity in the prince. he couldn’t even seek comfort or help from anyone growing up due to being betrayed by his parents.
also off topic but it’s really sad how the noble society paints the prince as this wild/violent addict when he literally has to take drugs or drink in order to not feel pain like it makes me sad how much he has to go through and is only able to rely on one person (his servant)
he’s been ostracized and abused since birth, but still manages to have such strong morals. he had the potential to become a good king but bc of his shitty, violent mother he has to bear his family’s responsibility just for existing. his childhood innocence was taken from him so early, im rooting for him sm
