My bet is her adoptive mom knew her actually parents and since she was a grey wolf half black & white.
And her parents were killed for associating with the other Wolf group or were forced to abandon their daughter to protect her and asked her adoptive mom to protect her by never letting her associate with strange people.

I think the mom knows something
