But what if it wasn’t love? He never showed any care for her until he realized she was pregnant. What if he kept the dress not becuz he has feelings of love for her, but it was an obsession of losing his unborn child? This reaction is very common among men who never loved their wives but will give them value once she bears his child especially if the child is a boy. He is pitiful and has a traumatic past that caused him to neglect and abandon her their whole married life, but the trauma only explains his actions not justify them.
Of course we don’t know the full story yet, and I hope he actually cared for her, but it’s gonna be tough to explain all that neglect and trauma and call that love.

Watch it actually be love though. She also neglected him by not talking to him properly. THE BOTH NEGLECTED EACH OTHER. THEY BOTH WRONG.
WATCH IT ACTUALLY BE LOVE AND JUST A LONG ASS TIME PERIOD OF MISUNDERSTANDING.
[I'm pretty sure there's another manhwa with this same concept of misunderstanding trope out there]

I read the spoilers somewhere and he loved her. He had a problem with stuttering so he tend to speak much less, apart from that leoni never tried to talk to approach him openly, rather she's hide away in the shadows and watch over him, so seeing that she'd never approach him, lead to believing that she was forced into this marriage and the misunderstanding continued on both sides. So no. The arrival of the child was not the reason he kept the dress, rather the person who wore it.
They're both at fault here since neither of them approached e/o. However unlike him, Leoni got a second chance at life whereas he was left all alone to wallow in the sadness of his lost wife and child.

Not to mention the years of abuse to underwent throughout his childhood would've obviously taken a troll on his personality leading him to become silent on most parts. Since Leoni never approached him, it's only natural that he'd think she would've rather preferred to be left alone than converse with him.

You know what I’m happy the spoilers hint to a good ending. But she did try to approach him tho? In chapter 18 she admits that she fell in love with him at first sight. She followed him everywhere just to see him and hopefully talk to him (y’all he’s a sword master, how could he have not noticed that?) She mentions they had been married for a while now but he still hadn’t talked to her, and the one time they met face to face in the garden and she tried to talk to him, he completely ignored her.
And well you could say that because she never came out to talk to him, then it’s her also her fault??? But where would she get that confidence? She’s a woman that’s been through 2 marriages at that point. In their society, people already talk about her like she’s used goods. And in a patriarchal society where the husband’s duty is to provide for his wife, and a wife’s value was determined by her ability to bear children, her husband was supposed to approach her first so that he could put to rest the rumors of society at the very least.
I’m not trying to downplay the trauma of the prince, but it wouldn’t be right to completely disregard the trauma she had to go through. Like him she grew up unloved and neglected, but she also lost her child, she lost her 2 husbands, and always had her confidence and self-worth put down. Not to mention the bed scene. The girl is OBLIGATED to sleep with him and bear a child. She must have been so scared. She doesn’t even know the man and bro barely spoke to her. How could she have approached him? I’m already very impressed she tried, it was just too bad he completely brushed her off.

according to the leaked the prince actually can't control the situation well since he also in dangerous situation, he kinda reminds us of Juvelian's dad. the prince is shocked to see the person he tries hard to protect instead dissappear before his eyes, both of them didn't really know each other in their past life, both also didn't communicated well and the the misscommunication hit hard
I kinda feel bad for the 8th prince... I mean i understand that leoni is still haunted by the events of her first life, but I can't help but feel sad for him. It feels like the prince loved her just as much in his first life seeing he still keeps her clothes with him even after she "died", he went through so much in his childhood that he must've find it hard to communicate his feelings, my heart ached for him when she went back to see how things had been going on with him through her painting... even if she gets a happy ending in this life, the prince will always wallow in her absence in the first life no matter what. He'll always remain sad and wish for her and their child to come back while she'll always misunderstand that he never loved her ...thinking about that breaks my heart. I look forward to see Leoni open her heart to him in this life though.
