Like you can’t do a more realistic depiction of rape and then not treat it as such. Like I give a pass to some other series who write it off cause they write it in a more lighthearted way(which really shouldn’t but comedy series and whatnot so I give it a pass since I’m used to it)
I’m fine with rape in my bl stories, but only when it’s handled correctly in context!
Like for comedic stories, they kinda play it off and yeah, if you do it okay, you can pull it off without making the reader’s frustrated.
But if it’s a more realistic depiction with a more serious story, you gotta give actual realistic consequences as well!
Like, uke should be scared of him or something! Or just any pushback! Like, he fell in love way too easily wtf! Especially when seme only acted like a little shit! Why is the author acting like they BOTH did something bad when it was just the seme!
All this story has left me with is a frustrated feeling . The beta friend is literally the best character cause he’s the only one that feels like a real person. Uke and seme just feel like they’re filling in for a character quota without giving thought to why they react the way they do.
I seriously lost it when uke called himself the jerk for ignoring him. WHEN THAT GUY WAS THE FIRST ONE TO, AFTER RAPING HIM. LIKE WTF. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
I wished the seme at least had an OUNCE of remorse for what he did. If he doesn’t and mc isn’t even accurately mad at him, I just get so frustrated.
